Children’s Sunday School — 10:00 am

At St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church in Hempstead, we offer Sunday school during the worship service for children ages 4 through 6 in one class and children ages 7 through 10 in a second class. Under the able direction of Kay Scholl, a public school teacher and former Bible Study Fellowship teaching leader, our children’s Sunday school provides a fun way for children to learn about Jesus Christ in ways that are targeted to their attention spans and interests.

All our Sunday school leaders have been through the “Safeguarding God’s Children” training program of The Diocese of Texas and are committed to making church enjoyable for our most precious gifts…our children.

All children are welcome to partake of the Eucharist as baptized Christians. After the Peace is shared in the worship service, just prior to the Eucharist, the children are dismissed from Sunday school so they can join their parents and take communion with the congregation or receive a blessing at the altar if they are not yet baptized.

We love children and we seek to share the love of God and of Jesus Christ with them in ways that keep them interested and wanting to learn and grow on their spiritual path.

The St. Bartholomew’s Nursery

We have a fully staffed nursery so you can enjoy the worship service without having to worry about your little ones. However, if you prefer to bring your infants and toddlers to the worship service, we welcome them in our midst. We love children, and we love to hear them!

As Fr. Bob has said, “God put the wiggle in the children and we enjoy having kids of all ages involved and interested in what’s going on. We are simply happy to have youngsters in church, whether they’re in the nursery, Sunday school, or in the sanctuary for worship.”

All our nursery attendants and Sunday school leaders have been through The Diocese of Texas “Safeguarding God’s Children” training program and are committed to bringing the love of Jesus Christ to all children in our midst.
